A great little paring knife comes sharp take care of it it stays sharp
Great knife for the price. Very sharp. Would prefer a molded handle, but overall, a nice knife.
I've been using Kiwi knives for years now. I cook daily and rely on these knives more than any other kitchen tool. They're some of the sharpest knives I've ever used, and they're dirt cheap. I love my Kiwi knives.
It's a very thin knife. This is not a Japanese chef's knife, it's just a flexible little knife that does some of the smaller cutting that you want to do. It's easy to grab, easy to sharpen, easy to clean and dry and put away. It's a good stocking stuffer but not a birthday gift so much as just a small knife that one won't get too excited about but will appreciate on a daily basis.
If you are here, I am sure you are quite familiar with Kiwi knives. They are inexpensive, stamped metal blades with partial tang, riveted wooden handles. They aren't fancy and are quite thin, but this can actually be a huge asset when doing fine knife work as they are SHARP. Think pastries, soft fruits and vegetables, or cheeses. Just out of curiosity, I tried this knife out recently as a steak knife and was shocked at just how easily it cut through a medium rare beef tenderloin. Honestly, it did just as well and perhaps even better than my name-brand, serrated German-style knives. As a recent knife aficionado, I'm embarrassed that I only just recently picked up this knife for the first time, but I'm so glad I did. Looking forward to building out my knife collection with even more of these Kiwi knives.
